New Year's Address by Pavel Pashkov 2026 — It Will Be Difficult, But We Must Continue to Protect Nature!

In our fight for Life, comrades, we have reached the year 2026. Behind us are already more than eleven years of tireless activity in defense of wild nature! All these years, without advertising, without lobbying for business and political interests, we sincerely changed the world. Slowly! As we could. We united people, identified environmental problems, and halted dangerous legislative projects. We talked about things that are currently even forbidden to think about.

The destruction of the planet's Biosphere has reached an unprecedented level. But the scientific work of scientists is ignored, facts are deliberately concealed, and meanwhile, we see how the pressure on wild nature is increasing. And now states are really running a race to "develop" the last refuges of wild nature — what is left of the world's system of reserves. The last fragments of the Earth's biocenosis.

Just look, just for a minimum example.

Right now the US government has launched the repeal of the "Roadless Rule", removing the ban on road construction and large-scale commercial logging on approximately 23.6 million hectares of ancient forests. Clearly stating that these territories will be handed over to business for logging and extraction of rare-earth resources, which are necessary for the world's transition to "green energy" and digital globalization.

At the same moment, a resolution was signed in Alaska canceling the protected status of over 5.3 million hectares of ancient forests, legalizing infrastructures and resource projects there. The justification is the same — for the extraction of rare earths.

Madness!

Our officials are actively proposing the USA extract rare-earth resources directly on our territory. And "suddenly" we see a whole range of legislative projects to destroy the protected status of our country's reserve system! Just like a carbon copy.

— A bill for continuous logging of ancient forests at Baikal has already been passed, as well as the transfer of protected lands into private hands of businesses.

— For the fourth time, officials are trying to push through a bill to eliminate the country's protected areas (abolition, boundary changes, sale to businesses).

— Immediately after the adoption of the project to destroy Baikal, apparently out of joy, officials published a new draft law threatening protected areas, but now under the pretext of "defense and security". However, all criteria are so vague that it immediately becomes clear: "defense and security" are just beautiful words, and really under this law, it would be possible to destroy specially protected natural territories as much as one likes.

— They attempted to pass a project on the elimination of the oldest documents on the protection of the country's protected areas. It concerns key documents that prohibited resource extraction, construction, and sport hunting in reserves and national parks.

— They are trying to pass a bill for continuous forest logging in the country's mountain ecosystems of PROTECTIVE PURPOSE.

And this is only part of all that madness we faced.

But at the same time, protecting nature is becoming more difficult. They block our shows on social networks, deliberately "crashing" search algorithms. We are forbidden from talking about problems, demanding their solutions, trying to "meddle in what doesn't concern us".

But this is OUR BUSINESS. This is our Homeland, our land. And we must continue to defend nature, fight for Life, by any means! No one else will. The pain of the Russian Taiga no one will convey better than us with you.

NEW YEAR — NEW CHALLENGES.

As you know, by the end of 2025 we faced problems. It is simply becoming impossible to protect nature, to continue activities! There are no resources for confrontation, pressure is colossal, and global socio-political chaos is finally destroying any public activity.

And yet, comrades, you did not let me fall! I received so many letters from you asking to continue activities, so many kind words and strong phrases, that I simply cannot give up. I cannot retreat.

Not today. Not when before our eyes they tear apart the last refuges of wild nature. Now is the very moment when incredible courage, strength, and devotion to our Mission in the struggle for Life are required.

We cannot retreat.

Therefore, we made the decision to continue the fight. Perhaps, we cannot do everything, we cannot endure everything, but we will not give up. Moreover, considering the features of the changing world, we are preparing completely new steps for the protection of wild nature.

I understand that there will be new challenges. I understand that we will have to adapt literally every day! That the truth, which is forbidden to articulate, will become isolated. And the freedom of Man is further restricted every day. The right to think, the right to an opinion, to a word.

Just think about this paradox: to establish digital globalism in the world, total control at the level of technologies, biometric identification cameras, artificial intelligence, and also to convert cars to electricity, to close everything old and create a new one — colossal amounts of rare earth resources are needed. But these resources are mainly left only under reserves, so the remnants of wild nature have to be "sacrificed to the global goal".

Is that how it turns out?

And now it is not only about protecting nature, but also about protecting the right of Man to freedom of thought and speech. It's about the right to truth.

Let us not think about it today! We are celebrating the New Year.

And after that, in the first days of 2026, back to the fight for Life.
